Our school recently celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival with a day that perfectly blended tradition with modern education.
Students kicked off the day by engaging in classic lantern riddles during recess. We also integrated technology with the Stellarium app for a fascinating, interactive moon-viewing session.
The main event focused on appreciating Chinese Culture and the importance of Food Security. We explored cultural depth by introducing the famous poem, Shui Diao Ge Tou. A major highlight was a well-received drama performance put on by the flag-raising team and Chinese Culture ambassadors, which drew many laughs and enjoyment from the audience. The concept of food security was also highlighted through the work of renowned agronomist Yuan Longping.
The celebration concluded with a lucky draw, delicious fruits and mooncakes, and was made extra special thanks to the generous alumni sponsorship of water parade tickets. It was a joyful day of unity, learning, and cultural pride!
