May Crowning

We honour the Blessed Virgin Mary each May through our beloved May Crowning ceremony. This beautiful tradition reflects our devotion to Our Lady and celebrates her role as the Queen of Heaven.

May Crowning symbolizes:

  • Love for Our Lady – Recognizing Mary as our spiritual mother and model of faith
  • Devotion and Prayer – Offering special prayers, hymns, and floral tributes
  • Student Participation – Empowering our girls to take active roles in honoring Mary

Each year, our students gather for a meaningful ceremony that includes:

  • Procession with Flowers – Students present flowers to Mary as a sign of love and purity
  • Crowning of Mary – A selected student places a floral crown on a statue of the Blessed Mother
  • Prayers and Hymns – Special prayers and hymns are sung

The May Crowning is more than a ritual — it is a way for our school to:

  • Deepen Faith – Encouraging students to emulate Mary’s trust in God
  • Strengthen Community – Uniting in prayer and shared devotion
  • Connect with Catholic Heritage – Passing down a timeless tradition to the next generation
